About

Hello! I’m a disabled, chronically ill, and non-binary transgender woman (she/they). I recently relocated from San Antonio, Texas, where I lived for nearly a decade, to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I started doing computer programming over two decades ago and have dabbled in a number of programming languages on various computing platforms since then, either as personal projects or in conjunction with academic pursuits.

I’m an urbanism and public transit enthusiast. As much as I enjoy visiting rural areas, I prefer living in cities and I believe that cities should prioritize people over cars. My favorite mode of public transport is whichever one gets me to wherever I want or need to go as quickly and conveniently as possible. Trains are really cool but buses are what I end up on the most.

I’m a fan of industrial and electronic music, including bands such as Project Pitchfork, De/Vision, Technomancer, and [:SITD:]. I like physical media for music and movies, and have a modest CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and UHD Blu-ray collection. I own more calculators than any one person should have. I dabble in photography and that intersects with an interest in birding. More recent interests are anime, manga, and visual novels…because trans 🤣

Being disabled and chronically ill are huge parts of my life. My chronic conditions include ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and migraine. I’m neurodivergent and am both autistic and have ADHD.

Currently I volunteer as president for The San Antonio Gender Association, albeit entirely remotely now. I’d attended their support group meetings for a few years and this organization has been a huge part of my journey as a trans person. San Antonio has an amazing and vibrant LGBTQIA+ community and being part of the leadership of one of those community organizations has been an incredible privilege and the most meaningful job, paid or unpaid, I’ve ever had.
